Mountainside Wines is a vineyard and winery nestled at the base of Mount Cole on the edge of the Grampians Wine Region in Western Victoria. We are about half way between Beaufort and Ararat and part of a small community called Warrak.
Warrak is 12km north east of the Western Highway.
The property is made up of 80 acres of cleared land with seven acres under vine. There are also outbuildings for our equipment and a working winery. As well as the outbuildings there is the homestead together with two small houses where friends and family can come to stay. One of the houses was the original post office here at Warrak which has been transported to the property. It is a beautiful little house complete with its own kitchen, bathroom, lounge and separate bedroom. From the deck you can look straight up to Mount Cole and all its beauty and ruggedness. The sunrises and sunsets are full of wonder and beauty and we often see the local wildlife who share our property.
At Mountainside Wines we grow Viognier, Nebbiolo and Shiraz vines and they produce enough grapes to make between 1,200 and 1,500 cases of wine every year.
Adam Louder, our winemaker, works with us to look after the vines as well as make the wine. Shane and I are fast learning about the work required to support Adam and maintain the vineyards in good condition.
Currently we are in the process of developing our brand to represent the wine and expect to have it in place by the end of February. We want our brand to represent Creekside, its heritage and its location close to Mount Cole and as part of the Grampians Wine Region. This is how we came up with the name Mountainside Wines and the logo you see at the top of our site. We are in the process of developing this as our brand and you will see it on our labels and our marketing collateral.
